Billing – General Practice

  • Consultation Types:

    • Standard or Short Consultation:
      Typically for a single problem.

    • Long/Prolonged Consultation:
      Typically for multiple problems or a single problem requiring a longer duration.

  • Payment Structure:

    • Your consultation fee is covered partly by Medicare/Insurance and partly by you as an out-of-pocket gap fee.

    • All other procedures (e.g., Iron Infusion) are also covered partly by Medicare/Insurance and partly by you.

Standard Consultation Fees:

  • Full-Time Students with Student Insurance (OSHC) or Medicare Card:

    • Fee: $93.00

    • Out-of-pocket Gap Fee: $50.15

  • Working Patients/Visitors with Private Insurance & No Medicare Card:

    • Fee: $103.00

    • Out-of-pocket Gap Fee: $60.15

  • Saturdays:

    • A $5 surcharge applies to all consultations.

  • Bulk Billing:
    Available for the following:

    • Under 16 years

    • Seniors (65+ years)

    • DVA Card Holders

    • Childhood Immunisation

    • Health Care Card (HCC):

      • Only Jobseeker, Youth Allowance, and Austudy are bulk-billed.

  • Medicare Online Claiming:

    • We offer the Medicare online claiming facility for easy rebates.

  • Direct Billing for Overseas Students.

  • Accepted Payment Methods:

    • Credit/Debit Cards

    • Cash

    • No CHEQUE or AMEX

Important Notes:

  • Consultation Payment:
    Every consultation, including result reviews and repeat medication, must be paid in full.

Telehealth:

  • Discounted Fee (Gap: $40) for patients needing:

    • Medical certificates (short duration)

    • Repeat prescriptions

    • Referrals

  • Anti-Wrinkle Injections:

    • Dysport: $6.00/unit

    • Botox: $12.50/unit

  • Dermal Fillers:

    • Fee: $650/ml

Restricted Drugs:

  • We follow new government policies on restricted drugs.

  • Long-term prescriptions for medications like Benzos and Codeine-containing medicines are avoided.
